According to Dr. Buhari, the funding was made possible through the commitment of Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal. A total of 1,000 beneficiaries were given ₦150,000 each, while 60 key business owners received ₦1 million each. He described the initiative as proof of the government’s trust in ZACCIMA as a reliable platform for economic growth.
Dr. Buhari expressed gratitude to the governor, the state executive council, government agencies, development partners, and ZACCIMA members for their dedication. He noted that before Governor Lawal’s intervention, the chamber faced financial challenges and had limited influence on policy decisions. However, through strengthened partnerships with the Zamfara Investment Promotion Agency (ZIPA) and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, ZACCIMA has gained recognition as a key player in economic planning and private-sector development.
Abdulrahaman Tumbido, the state’s Commissioner for Commerce, Industries, and Tourism, reiterated the government’s focus on diversifying the economy beyond raw material extraction to include manufacturing and agribusiness. Represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abdulrahman Guraguri Shinkafi, he commended ZACCIMA for its efforts in promoting industrial growth and job creation.
Tumbido also mentioned ongoing infrastructure projects, including the near-completion of Gusau International Airport and a seven-story hotel, as part of the administration’s economic development plans. He assured continued government backing for ZACCIMA’s initiatives.
