Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Dr. Evoh Okechukwu Nwikegwu, the forum’s president and representative of Enenaezeraku Ward in Ebonyi State, emphasized that councilors—being the closest government tier to the people—have witnessed firsthand how Tinubu’s policies have revitalized rural governance.
Nwikegwu highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda as a catalyst for tangible community improvements, from infrastructure upgrades to agricultural reforms.
He singled out the return of financial autonomy to local governments as a landmark achievement, fostering transparency and accountability in resource allocation. With over 8,809 councilors across Nigeria’s 774 LGAs and 176,836 polling units, the forum represents a critical grassroots network bridging urban and rural divides.
The councilors also praised the administration’s strides in national security, including military modernization and enhanced intelligence coordination. They argued that Tinubu’s leadership since 2023 has shown the resolve needed to sustain ongoing reforms, urging ward leaders to mobilize voter support ahead of 2027.
The NCFN’s endorsement underscores Tinubu’s deepening ties with grassroots structures, positioning local governance as a cornerstone of his political legacy.
