APC, Zamfara Leaders Pay Tribute to Late Wife of Former Deputy Governor

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Hauwa'u Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, the wife of the state's former Deputy Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad. The news of her sudden demise has left the party and the wider community in deep mourning.

According to a statement released by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, Hajiya Hauwa'u passed away earlier this evening at a private hospital in Abuja, surrounded by her husband and close family members. Her death has come as a shock to many, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill.

Her burial has been scheduled to take place tomorrow, Sunday, the 8th of February, 2026, at 2:30 PM in Gusau, Zamfara State, in accordance with Islamic rites. The party has called on well-wishers and the community to join in prayers for her peaceful repose.

In their statement, the APC extended heartfelt prayers, asking Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala to forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Jannatu Firdaus, and provide her grieving family—especially her husband, His Excellency Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad—with the strength and patience to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The party also conveyed its deepest condolences to the people of Zamfara State, particularly the Gusau Emirate, as well as former governors Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar and Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun.
