In a statement issued by Hon. Mahmud Mohammad Dantawasa, Commissioner for Information and Culture, the government reiterated that gratuity payments are a key aspect of Governor Lawal’s Rescue Mission Agenda, which emphasizes workers' welfare, fiscal accountability, and social justice. The governor stressed that retirees who have served the state deserve timely and fair treatment, including the prompt settlement of their entitlements.
Governor Lawal further explained that the Rescue Mission Agenda seeks to restore faith in governance by transparently addressing inherited liabilities. He clarified that clearing gratuity arrears is not a favor but a legal and ethical duty of the government.
The statement also warned against any form of exploitation, assuring that no retiree should pay or seek favors to receive their due payments. All verified beneficiaries will be paid directly and without bias.
The government thanked retirees for their patience and assured them that additional payment batches will follow as resources permit. The administration remains committed to the goals of the Rescue Mission Agenda, ensuring that all Zamfara citizens benefit from its policies.
