In his welcome address, the Program Manager of FINDEF, Mr. Elisha Magaji, emphasized the critical role of partnerships in sustaining effective school feeding initiatives. He commended the Zamfara State Government and ZSUBEB for their continued commitment to improving the welfare of school children and strengthening access to quality education.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer ZSUBEB, Ibrahim Musa Maizare said the event featured a series of sessions, including an overview of the African Day of School Feeding, the background of school feeding programmes, and discussions on the core challenges affecting implementation. Participants also examined the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, engaged in group work, and shared practical solutions to enhance programme delivery across the state.
Highlights of the programme included discussions on promoting safety in school feeding, as well as presentations showcasing practical school feeding initiatives implemented by FINDEF in Zamfara State.
In his closing remarks, the Director of Academic Services, Garba Abdullahi, who spoke on behalf of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board and its Chairman, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, Makaman Sokoto South, expressed appreciation to FINDEF and Solidarités International for their support and partnership. He reaffirmed the Board's commitment to sustaining and strengthening school feeding programmes as a vital tool for improving educational outcomes and child welfare in the state.
