Mass Defection Hits PDP, LP as Members Flock to ADC in Lagos

Several members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The defection ceremony took place at Famco Event Centre, Epe, and was attended by the ADC executive committee and supporters from 19 wards across the Epe division.

Noheem Balogun, a former PDP chieftain, led the defection, citing the need for a new political direction in the state. He expressed concern about the declining internal structure of the PDP and attributed his defection to the party's lack of ideological direction.

Balogun stated that the ADC remains committed to grassroots development, transparency, and people-centred governance. He emphasized the importance of a credible alternative to the ruling APC, warning against one-party dominance in Nigeria's political system.

Other defectors, including former PDP chairperson Olusola Adamolekun, urged women and youths to join the ADC, emphasizing the need for transformative change. The event was attended by various ADC leaders and supporters, who expressed their commitment to driving change in the state.
