Bandits Wreak Havoc in Zamfara, Kill Union Bank Staff, Abduct Colleague

A deadly attack by armed bandits on Sunday resulted in the killing of a Union Bank staff member and the abduction of another along the Gusau–Funtua highway in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. at Kucheri village, where the bandits opened fire on a moving vehicle, a GAC SUG with registration number BDG 251 HZ.

The vehicle was transporting two Union Bank staff members, Zakari Leo, the regional manager, and Muhammad Sani Suleman, both from the Yakubu Gowon Way branch in Kaduna State.

Security forces quickly responded to the scene and combed the surrounding area. Unfortunately, Muhammad Sani Suleman, who sustained gunshot injuries, died en route to the hospital.

The deceased's body has been released to the management of Union Bank Plc, Gusau branch, for burial. The whereabouts of the abducted staff member, Zakari Leo, remain unknown.
