The merger was announced during a coalition meeting held in Kaduna on Saturday, attended by party leaders, stakeholders, and political actors from various platforms.
The meeting, chaired by El-Rufai, brought together prominent figures, including ADC Vice Chairman (North West) Ja'afar Mohammed Sani, ADC State Chairman Elder Patrick Ambut, and Mallam Bashir Saidu, ADC Leader in Kaduna.
Speakers at the event hailed the merger as a landmark step towards building a united and formidable political front in the state, focused on progressive governance and inclusive development.
El-Rufai emphasized the coalition's commitment to unity and people-centered governance, while Ja'afar Mohammed Sani praised the SDP leadership for their bold move, describing it as "a new dawn for credible alternative leadership in Kaduna."
The merger is expected to lead to the immediate constitution of a Membership Registration Committee by the ADC National Working Committee (NWC), with the state chapter collaborating with local government and ward committees to commence new membership registration and revalidation of existing members.
The meeting ended on an optimistic note, with participants pledging to strengthen the party's grassroots base and prepare strategically for future political engagements.
