According to a statement by Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer, the precision strikes were targeted at terrorists who had gathered for a wedding ceremony at the foot of Asola Hills in Yankuzo Ward of Tsafe Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted based on credible intelligence, targeted a large assembly of terrorists from various parts of Zamfara State and Katsina State.
The air strikes resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, with many others sustaining critical injuries. Ground troops launched a follow-up operation, fighting through an ambush and confirming that no fewer than 30 terrorists were neutralized.
The successful operation has brought relief to residents of Yankuzo, Tsafe, and neighboring communities, who have suffered repeated terrorist harassment.
