The supplementary election was held in five polling units of Sakajiki and Kyambarawa wards of Kaura Namoda LGA, following the cancellation of over 3,000 votes during the previous by-election.
The election recorded a large turnout of voters, with adequate security arrangements in all five polling units. Lawmakers, including Rep Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC-Zamfara) and Rep Sulaiman Gummi (APC-Zamfara), described the conduct of the election as credible and peaceful.
The lawmakers commended INEC staff, security agencies, and voters for their roles in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election. Muhammad Sanusi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegate, also commended the arrangements made by INEC.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Muhammad Gumel, deployed to the state for the rerun election, assured that the police would perform their duty professionally during the elections.
Security personnel from various agencies, including the Nigerian Police, State Security Service (SSS), and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were deployed to ensure the safety of the electorate.
