According to SYEF spokesperson, Mallam Hamisu Sani, the report does not reflect the strides made by the current administration to improve living conditions. He cited various people-centred programmes initiated by Governor Ahmad Aliyu's administration, including the distribution of free fertilizers, seedlings, and farm inputs to farmers, as well as food assistance to vulnerable citizens.
Sani also highlighted the restoration and upward review of monthly allowances for the physically challenged, increased from ₦6,500 to ₦10,000, and the introduction of monthly cash allocations to Jumu'at mosques. He emphasized that these interventions are deliberate steps to empower the people and restore dignity, even in the face of national economic hardship.
The group urged analysts and media outlets to await the outcome of the ongoing multidimensional poverty index survey commissioned by the state government before drawing definitive conclusions.
