The senator's suspension began on March 6, 2025, after she clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements during a plenary. She challenged the suspension in court, but the Federal High Court ruled in favor of the Senate, prompting her to appeal to the Court of Appeal.
The National Assembly stressed that no administrative action will be taken until the Court of Appeal delivers its decision, and Akpoti-Uduaghan's suspension cannot be reviewed until the judicial process is fully concluded.
