Senator Abdulaziz Yari has distributed food items, livestock, and cash to Christian communities and organizations in Zamfara State to support the 2025 Christmas celebrations. Representing Zamfara West District, Yari donated 310 bags of 50kg rice, 16 cows, and ₦1 million in cash. The donation was presented by his aide, Alhaji Sani Garba, who explained that this is an annual tradition to help Christians celebrate Christmas and the New Year joyfully.
Garba emphasized the importance of transparency, fairness, and justice in distributing the items. The beneficiaries include the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the APC Igbo and Yoruba wings, as well as Igbo and Yoruba communities in Zamfara. Specifically, CAN received 200 bags of rice, 10 cows, and ₦1 million; the APC Igbo Wing received 20 bags of rice and one cow; and the APC Yoruba Wing got 10 bags of rice and one cow. The Igbo Community was given 50 bags of rice and two cows, while the Yoruba Community received 30 bags of rice and two cows.
Garba urged Christians in the state to use the festive season to pray for peace, security, and development in Zamfara and Nigeria. In response, CAN Chairman Afolabi Azeez thanked Yari for the gesture and assured fair distribution among Christian faithful. He also encouraged continued prayers for improved peace and security in the state.
