Speaking at the 2025 West Africa Social Activities event organized by the brigade in Gusau, Jimoh emphasized that Operation Fansan Yamma has drastically improved security, allowing free movement within and beyond the state. He noted that travelers can now move safely between towns like Funtua, Gusau, and Sokoto without fear of attacks. The commander pledged continued efforts to eliminate terrorism not only in Zamfara but throughout Nigeria’s northwestern region.
Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, represented by Works Commissioner Lawal Barau, praised the Nigerian Army’s role in restoring peace. He specifically commended the bravery and dedication of One Brigade troops under Operation Fansan Yamma, assuring sustained government support for security agencies.
During the event, Brigadier General Jimoh highlighted the importance of the social gathering in fostering military-civilian relations. He credited the improved security to teamwork between security forces and local communities. The ceremony included awards for outstanding personnel and a tug-of-war competition involving the Army, DSS, and FRSC.
