He described it as a cherished tradition in the Nigerian Army, originally meant to celebrate military victories but later evolving into an annual cultural showcase. Despite operational challenges, the event remains a vital platform for soldiers to express their customs and way of life.
The commander welcomed Major General WD Idris, the Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, alongside heads of security agencies and other guests. He stressed that WASA dispels the myth that military service erases cultural identity, proving instead that soldiers remain rooted in their heritage.
Governor Dauda Lawal, represented by the Commissioner for Works, Lawal Barau Bungudu, praised the 1 Brigade’s leadership and organizing committee for a successful event that strengthened civil-military relations. He also commended the officers and soldiers for their relentless efforts in restoring peace and security across Zamfara State.
