Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, emphasized that the primary focus of the ILC decisions centered on creating a safe and secure work environment. "Ensuring workplace safety and security is crucial, as it motivates workers, promotes productivity, and contributes significantly to national growth and development."
Following the conference, a comprehensive report was submitted to the Federal Executive Council for consideration. Nigeria is now focused on translating the ILC resolutions into concrete actions, with worker representatives playing a vital role in driving implementation.
Reflecting on the ministry's achievements over the past eight months, Dingyadi highlighted a period of remarkable labour peace and stability, citing continuous dialogue and a commitment to peaceful resolution of labour issues.
The Minister also noted that the Ministry has enhanced its internal processes, leading to greater efficiency and improved service delivery. Dingyadi expressed optimism about ongoing and future reforms aimed at improving the work environment for Nigerians and strengthening the country's workforce under President Ahmed Tinubu's direction.
"This renewed focus on worker safety, engagement, and institutional efficiency signals a robust labour sector poised to support Nigeria's socio-economic development," he said.
