A federal lawmaker from Zamfara State has gifted twelve brand-new Toyota Camry cars valued at ₦360 million to Islamic scholars in the region.
The donation was made by Rep. Abdulmalik Zubairu, who represents the Bungudu and Maru Federal Constituency under the APC.
Governor Dauda Lawal praised the gesture, highlighting its alignment with his administration’s commitment to honoring religious leaders who advocate for justice, peace, and stability.
The governor, represented by his special adviser on religious matters, Bello Almufty, emphasized the importance of supporting scholars beyond political affiliations.
The beneficiaries included prominent clerics such as Sheikh Abdullahi Dalla-Dalla, Sheikh Na’Allah Zurmi, Sheikh Usman Tambuwal, and others.
The vehicles were presented on behalf of the lawmaker, with each car reportedly costing over ₦30 million.
Rep. Zubairu’s team explained that the donation acknowledges the scholars' contributions to spreading Islamic teachings and fostering peace in society.
The lawmaker’s spokesperson, Aminu Lawal, urged the recipients to use the vehicles responsibly.
