Other health professionals, such as nurses, pharmacists, and allied medical personnel, are paid ₦50,000 monthly, amounting to ₦250,000 for the same five-month period. Corps members posted to government schools, ministries, and other public institutions receive ₦20,000 monthly, totaling ₦100,000 for five months.
Additionally, the state government cleared outstanding allowances for ex-corps members of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ service year, who were paid at the old rate. Ex-corps members in schools and ministries received ₦25,000 for five months, while medical and health-related ex-corps members were paid ₦250,000 for the same period.
This new allowance fulfills a pledge made by Zamfara State Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal during a visit to the NYSC orientation camp, ending years of unpaid state allowances for corps members.
The NYSC Zamfara State Coordinator, Mallam Muhammad Lawan, thanked the governor for his commitment, calling it a testament to his support for youth and the NYSC program. He urged corps members to reciprocate the gesture by dedicating themselves to their duties and contributing to the state’s development.
