Zamfara Govt Launches Dual-Purpose Motorcycle Scheme for Workers

The Zamfara State government has handed out 65 motorcycles to sanitation supervisors in Gusau to support their daily cleaning activities. The move is intended to improve efficiency and ensure cleaner surroundings in the state capital.

During the distribution ceremony, the Deputy Governor, Mani Mummuni, emphasized that the initiative was designed to encourage sanitation officers and enhance their performance. He reminded recipients to use the motorcycles responsibly, warning that misuse could lead to penalties.

To further assist the officers, the government has permitted them to use the motorcycles for commercial purposes outside their official duties, helping them earn extra income.

Mummuni highlighted the state’s commitment to empowering young people and creating job opportunities. He mentioned recent efforts, including the distribution of vehicles to youth leaders, and assured that more support programs would follow.

In another initiative, vocational tools such as sewing machines, refrigerators, and additional motorcycles were distributed to young men and women in Gusau, Tsafe, Maru, and Bungudu Local Government Areas. This effort, facilitated by Senator Ikra Bilbis of Zamfara Central, aims to promote self-sufficiency and skill development.

The Deputy Governor praised Bilbis for the initiative and called on other elected officials to contribute to the growth and well-being of their communities.
